Nature’s playground in WA’s stunning South West

Not to miss...
Named for the Noongar word, “Manjin” (a broad-leafed edible reed) and “up” (‘place of’ in Noongar language), Manjimup is the beating heart of the Southern Forests region. As the gateway to the Shire we offer the full range of services necessary to answer any need, and most desires.
As the ‘food bowl’ of the state, an impressive range of fruit, vegetables, meats, wine and other beverages take our tally of varieties of produce to 50. So something is always at its freshest and best. It is always a good time to visit the Shire.
Manjimup hosts some of the most unique events in Western Australia. These include the Truffle Kerfuffle weekend, Cherry Harmony Festival, Manjimup 15,000 and Targa West rally, not to mention the Bluegrass and Old Time Music Weekend. For a night out, Gatsby’s Skyline Cabaret venue offers an exceptional evening of cocktails and live music, and showcases the talents of local and international musical guests on most weekends.
Our accommodation suits every budget, from unique bush camping at Parks and Wildlife sites, historic Fonty’s Pool caravan park or chalets, to luxury accommodation at our high-end venues – perfect for a family getaway, a special romantic weekend, or the most memorable wedding or function.
We have special attractions too. Our fire lookout trees (the Diamond Tree, Gloucester Tree and Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree) are a slice of history, and offer a challenge to those bold enough to accept. Are you brave enough to climb to the top of a giant Karri tree? Alternatively, enjoy the thrill of ziplines and flying foxes through the forest with Aerial Adventures, whose obstacle courses across the tree canopy offer family entertainment and adventure of a whole different kind.
Amongst the natural attractions within a short drive from Manjimup are two world-class, long distance trails. The Bibbulmun walking track and the Munda Biddi mountain biking trail both criss-cross the Shire. The trails traverse stunning forest and scenic agricultural land amongst picturesque townships. If you prefer horseback, the Warren-Blackwood Stock route is a local bridle trail which follows the historic trek from inland pastures to the coast which local graziers used to tread annually.
Our pristine rivers and dams offer fishing, swimming, canoeing and other boating opportunities, and our communities thrive through a range of arts activities, where you can be an appreciative audience or an active participant.
